EN / Anastasija’s photo series is part of the 'St. George Residency x Photofuss: Dream Laboratory' exhibition. The series was created during a 24-hour artist residency at Hotel St. George in autumn 2023. An exhibition of selected images by the five residency photographers will be on display at the St. George Bakery until the end of 2024. The project was executed in collaboration with Hotel St. George, The Finnish Museum of Photography and Photofuss.

Aloitin hedelmäruokavalion kesällä ja muutin kaupungista asumaan biodynaamiselle maatilalle itsejärjestämään taiteilija residenssiin. Residenssi mökkini edessä sijaitsee omena viljelmät. Söin hedelmä jokapäivä - olen onnellinen ja onnekas. Tämä on inspiraationi, piirsin iloisia hedelmiä.

This summer transitioned to fruit diet and moved to live at a biodynamic farm to do self organized artist residency. Infront of my resideny hut grows field of apple trees. I ate fruits everyday - I am that Lucky. That is my inspiration. I drew happy fruits.

This body of work serves as a poignant reflection of transformative journey of self-discovery and healing over the year 2022 - 2023.
Rooted in the profound quest to reconnect with her authentic self, Anastasija delves into the complexities of her immigrant and refugee upbringing, which left her feeling displaced both in Finland and Russia. Childhood trauma, stemming from familial lineage, further distanced her from her true essence, rendering her own body—a sacred temple—unsafe for habitation.
In her exploration, Anastasija discerns that true home is not confined to external physical spaces but resides within the sanctuary of one's own being. She acknowledges that without inner security and self-acceptance, the experience of home remains elusive within the three-dimensional realm.
Anastasija harnesses the power of "I Am" affirmations as a pivotal tool in her journey, recognizing the profound impact of language on her mental landscape and external reality. Through her work, she seeks to illuminate the inherent wisdom within each individual, emphasizing the importance of self-loyalty in co-creating one's reality.
Rooted in her passion for drawing, she employs a multidisciplinary approach—integrating drawing, writing, and photography—to narrate her life story visually, pushing the boundaries of creative expression within photographic art.
For Anastasija, life itself is a canvas, and she revels in the opportunity to infuse every moment with creativity and intentionality. Drawing inspiration from Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh's timeless wisdom, she finds solace and illumination in the profound truths of the present moment.
With gratitude, she invites all fellow seekers to embark on their own path homeward, affirming that true home is found within the heart.

The group was formed to provide rising talents the opportunity to carry out photocultural activities and collaborative artistic practice. The group meets every two weeks and their yearly curriculum consists of group exhibition planning, exhibition visits, artist visits and a photo-magazine project.
