FIN.’Portaali’ EN. ‘Portal’ (2022) piece was created on graphic arts course in school. The course was held by graphic artist Maija Albrecht.

This self-initiated project delves into the technique of dry needling, resulting in twelve intricately carved tiles that, when printed collectively, form a magnificent portal configuration.

'Portaali' is more than a visual spectacle; it embodies a sense of eternity and flexibility. Each individual tile stands as a unique work of art, capable of being appreciated independently or combined to create a breathtaking whole. The potential for customization is boundless, with the current configuration measuring 60x70cm, yet the potential for expansion is as vast as the artist's imagination—offering the thrilling prospect of transforming 'Portaali' into a sprawling masterpiece of infinite proportions, limited only by the artist's creative vision.

Beyond the tangible dimensions, the project encapsulates a deeper philosophy. In the artist's vision, 'Portaali' is a timeless creation—a reservoir of inspiration that beckons for continuous exploration. The modifiability of each tile offers an intriguing prospect for future expansions, potentially evolving into elaborate set designs, immersive installations, or a collection of sculptures capturing the essence of a portal keeper.

The portal itself, devoid of a fixed location or destination, encourages viewers to forge their own interpretations. Whether it be through the kaleidoscope of colors or the discovery of celestial bodies mirroring the self, each observer becomes an active participant in shaping the narrative.

For Anastasija, the portal serves as a sanctuary, symbolizing the enduring nature of the soul and validating the existence of diverse realities. Within this celestial construction lies, perhaps, a gateway to the artist's personal realm—a realm where art and enchanting self-expression reign supreme.

"I always discover something new within this portal simply by immersing myself in its depths," shares Anastasija, capturing the perpetual allure and evolving magic encapsulated in 'Portaali.'
