I Am Trying To Know You More

The photo series is part of the 'St. George x Residency x Photofuss: Dream Laboratory' exhibition. The series was created during a
24-hour artist residency at Hotel St. George in autumn 2023. An exhibition of selected images by the five residency photographers will be on display at the St. George Bakery until the end of 2024 (31.12.2024).

The project was executed in collaboration with Hotel St. George, The Finnish Museum of Photography and Photofuss.
Kimonos borrowed from Klaus Haapaniemi.

Anastasija-Evgenija developed a photographic series with two models in the Coupole Suite at the St.George Hotel, Helsinki.

The photoshoot took place at carefully orchestrated women's circle tea ceremony, surrounded by beautiful flowers, and without digital distractions.

Anastasija-Evgenija chose kimonos from Klaus Haapaniemi to enhance the serene atmosphere. The aim was to create a space for relaxation and self-reflection.

In addition to the tea ceremonies, Anastasija-Evgenija captured spontaneous self-portraits on the hotel's historic staircase—a liminal space bridging private sanctuaries, the external world, and the hotel's public domain together. These images reveal her inner emotions, influenced by the staircase's unique energy.

The project delves into themes of self-perception, emotional exploration, and femininity. Inspired by reflections on womanhood.

Through this project, Anastasija-Evgenija experienced moments of sisterhood, relaxation and joy while deepening her understanding of herself.
